Deric Kramer Drives to Fifth Career No. 1 Qualifier in American Ethanol Camaro
GAINESVILLE, Fl. (September 26, 2020) – Deric Kramer piloted his way to the No. 1 spot at the 51st annual AMALIE Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals today at Gainesville Raceway. The American Ethanol Chevrolet Camaro driver collected five bonus points throughout qualifying as well.
In the first qualifying session, Kramer drove the American Ethanol Chevrolet Camaro to the No. 2 spot and collected two bonus points for being the second quickest Pro Stock competitor of the session.
For the second and final session, the Michael Hiner-tuned Camaro bettered their performance with a stout 6.602, 208.78 and nabbed three bonus points along with the No. 1 qualifying spot heading into raceday at the Gatornationals.
“It’s no secret that our 2020 hasn’t been great so this is a really big boost for our American Ethanol team,” Kramer said. “I feel like we turned a corner at the U.S. Nationals a few weeks ago and it’s all coming together this weekend, but we need to keep our eyes on the prize. We’ve got one mission for raceday and that’s to come home with the win.”
No. 1 Kramer will have lane choice over No. 16 Bob Benza in the first round of eliminations tomorrow morning.
