MORRISON, Colo. (July 21, 2018) – Deric Kramer has sure made an impression in the Pro Stock category in 2018. This weekend was no different as Kramer took his American Ethanol Chevrolet Camaro to the No. 1 spot after four rounds of uber-competitive qualifying at the 39th annual Mile-High NHRA Nationals at his home track Bandimere Raceway.
In the first qualifying session, Kramer started strong with the second quickest pass of the category and nabbed two bonus points when he crossed the finish line with a 6.956-second pass at 197.22 mph. In the Friday evening session, Kramer powered his green and black Camaro to the quickest of the session with a 6.935, 197.68 and grabbed three more bonus points to end his Fridayefforts.
Saturday, Kramer showed his consistency when he clocked in with a 6.957, 197.33 at the top end at the Morrison, Colo.-based racetrack. To finish out qualifying, Kramer turned heads and the hometown crowd cheered as he jumped to the No. 1 spot in the second to last pair of the session with a 6.929, 197.57.
Kramer ended with a total of eight bonus points for his performance throughout qualifying.
“I seem to always grab the No. 1 spot in the last session,” Kramer beamed. “It’s a great feeling getting the No. 1 spot in front of your home track. I’ve been down Bandimere Speedway so many times in my life and I think that helped meout a lot this weekend. I hope I can play it to my advantage tomorrow. Going No. 1 on the mountain is something I’ll remember for a really long time.”
Eliminations start tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. starting with Top Fuel.
