Rob Tucker Racing Qualifying Wrap-Up: NHRA Carolina Nationals
CONCORD, N.C. (September 16, 2017) – Shane Tucker powered the Hot Wheels™ Americana Pro Series™ Car Care Products Chevrolet Camaro to the No. 14 spot after four rounds of qualifying at the 10th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway.
SHANE TUCKER, AUZMET ARCHITECTURAL CHEVROLET CAMARO Q1: 7.148-seconds, 154.03 mph Q2: 6.676, Q3: 6.668, 207.37 Q4: 6.702, 204.66 Qualified: No. 14 First Round Opponent: Bo Butner
Quotable: “It’s a little bit of a learning curve with our own engine program but I think we’re definitely closing the gap,” Tucker said. “I’m a little impatient because I’m a drag racer so I’d like to have the gap be a little smaller than it is going into raceday but we’ve definitely taken some steps forward in our Hot Wheels™ Americana Pro Series™ Car Care Products Chevrolet Camaro.” “I guess from running these last few races, it seems like the quick cars are maybe a little conservative on Sunday and rightfully so,” Tucker added. “They probably aren’t swinging for the fences like they are during qualifying so sometimes that can make the earlier rounds pretty interesting; it gives us a fighting chance anyways. It’s tough to have the points leader in the first round but all the pressure is on him. We really don’t have anything to lose and I hope that works in our favor.”
