CONCORD, N.C. (September 16, 2017) – The first raceday of the Countdown to the Championship is on the horizon and Allen Johnson comes into the fight No. 9 in the Pro Stock points. On the eve of raceday at the 10th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals, Johnson finds himself as the No. 10 seed in the Marathon Petroleum/J&J Racing Dodge Dart and will race Drew Skillman in the first round of eliminations.

“All weekend we’ve been right there with the fastest in the pack,” Johnson said. “Luckily, it was hot today and that gives us a good idea of what setup we can run tomorrow. You’ve gotta respect the track in this heat and run it a little different. In Q4 [final qualifying session], we ran one-hundredth of a second off the fastest car that session – we’ll take it.”
