GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (August 29, 2017) – The biggest race of the year is upon Allen Johnson and the Marathon Petroleum/J&J Racing Team. Johnson reached his first U.S. Nationals final round last year and is hoping to take it one step further this season and bring home the win to Greeneville, Tennessee.
Johnson is No. 9 in the Pro Stock point standings and will be fighting to keep his name in the top ten and clinch his spot in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship this weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway.
“We had the win within our grasp last year,” Johnson said. “To win Indy is very special for anybody and I hope our high qualifying gains from Brainerd will carry us to a great performance this weekend at the U.S. Nationals. We tested some new components on the Marathon Petroleum/J&J Racing Dodge Dart yesterday at zMAX Dragway and we’re really figuring out what this car does and doesn’t want.”
