Shane Tucker Takes on New England Nationals from No. 13 Seed
EPPING, N.H. (June 3, 2017) – Auzmet Architectural Pro Stock driver Shane Tucker will take on the competition from the No. 13 spot at the Fifth annual NHRA New England Nationals.
In Friday’s first session, Tucker experienced massive tire shake as soon as he let out the clutch in his Chevrolet Camaro. He coasted to half-track and no time was recorded. In the evening session, Tucker rebounded as he crossed the finish line at 6.712-seconds at 202.52 mph, which moved him into the No. 13 position.
Saturday, Tucker suited up to improve on his No. 13 spot and when he tried to start the car, mechanical issues plagued the run and the car was unable to fire; the Rob Tucker-led team made the decision to head back to the pits. With only fourteen cars in the field, the team made the executive ruling to sit out the final qualifying session to save parts and set their sights on raceday.
“We had some mechanical issues in the first session today and we weren’t able to make the run, unfortunately,” Tucker said. “We decided to sit out the final session because we know we weren’t going to be bumped out and wanted to save our good stuff for raceday.”
Tucker will take on Erica Enders in the first round of eliminations. Eliminations begin at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow morning starting with Top Fuel.
