PSE/Star Racing Event Preview: Dodge NHRA Nationals

September 27, 2016

MERICUS, Ga. (September 28, 2016) – The PSE/Star Racing Buell team of Cory Reed and Angelle Sampey head to the 32nd annual Dodge NHRA Nationals this weekend at Maple Grove Raceway.

Angelle Sampey Second Winningest Racer in Maple Grove History
Three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle World Champion Sampey is in second place for most victories won at Maple Grove Raceway with six winner circle appearances.

She trails 16-time Funny Car Champion John Force by only one win.

“I’m trying not to care about points,” Sampey said about being two points out of first place in the Pro Stock Motorcycle standings. “I just want to win a race. That’s all I’ve ever cared about and that’s what I plan on doing in Reading.”

Cory Reed Knocking Tracks Off His Racing Bucket List
Like many events on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing tour, Reed has been to Maple Grove Raceway and watched his family compete in various classes like Top Alcohol Dragster and Pro Mod but this will be the first time he will be racing himself.

“It’s going to be good air this weekend,” Reed said. “It’s going to be nice and chilly and we’re gonna haul. It’s gonna be awesome. Coming off a semifinals last weekend in St. Louis, I think I’m racing the best I have so far in my rookie season. I feel like I was on it all weekend so I’m looking forward to racing in Reading this weekend.”
