Harlow Sammon’s Chris McGaha Hoping for Father’s Day Turnaround at Bristol

ODESSA, Tex. (June 15, 2016) – Pro Stock driver Chris McGaha makes his way to the 16th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals this weekend to compete for the Pro Stock event title at Bristol Dragway. Just one short year ago, McGaha saw himself in the second final round of his career at this race. Although he runnered up at Bristol in 2015, his season went on to be his most successful yet with three wins in Sonoma, Seattle, and Reading. Father’s Day holds a lot of importance in the Harlow Sammons pit area. Not only will Chris’ children Mason and Berkley be in attendance with wife Holly, Chris’ father Lester works with him on his Pro Stock operation every race on tour. With the third race in the tough four-in-a-row, McGaha is looking to turn the corner and turn on four win lights with his entire family there to share in the excitement. “I like Bristol,” McGaha said. “We almost won it last year! Hopefully we can turn our luck around and do good there this year. The good thing about the four-in-a-row is every weekend is a clean slate and we can turn around our luck at any time.” Qualifying at the 16th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals begins on Friday June 17 with two sessions at 5:00 and 7:30 p.m. (ET). Qualifying continues on Saturday June 18 with two more sessions at 1:00 and 3:30 p.m. (ET). Eliminations begin at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. “I’m looking forward to racing on Father’s Day with my dad and my kids,” he added. “Family is what it’s all about; it always has been about family in the Harlow Sammons pits.” NHRA PRO STOCK POINTS
